Most people who come to Kairos for Korea are stuck on one of these. Each one is solvable with the right plan.
✓
You don't know where to start.
Language program, degree, or scholarship: the options are confusing and the rules change by country.
✓
You're unsure if your Korean is enough.
For language programs you need zero Korean. For degrees and scholarships there is a clear target, and a plan to reach it.
✓
The visa process looks overwhelming.
D-4, D-2, proof of funds, embassy steps. With the right preparation it is a checklist, not a maze.
✓
The GKS scholarship feels out of reach.
It is competitive, but it is winnable with the right strategy, which is exactly where Ron adds the most value.
Ron lives in Seoul and knows these programs from the inside. The path exists. He helps you find it and walk it.
Why Korea
One of the best education decisions you can make.
Korea's universities rank among the top 100 in the world, tuition costs a fraction of the US or UK, and Seoul is one of the most exciting cities anywhere to spend your twenties.
🏛
World-ranked universities.
SNU, KAIST, POSTECH, Korea University, and Yonsei all rank in the global top 100 to 200, and KAIST is top 50 in the world for engineering. These are destination schools, not backups.
₩
Far lower cost.
Tuition runs about $3,000 to $8,000 a year, a fraction of US or UK prices. With the fully funded GKS scholarship, studying here can cost you almost nothing.
🌏
A real international community.
More than 160,000 international students are in Korea right now, and English-taught degrees have grown fast. You will land on a genuinely global campus.
🎓
Korean opens doors.
Even a year of language study puts Samsung, Hyundai, LG, and HYBE within reach, and a TOPIK certificate is a career asset across Asia.
🛫
A visa process you can navigate.
The D-4 language visa and D-2 student visa are well structured and achievable with the right preparation. Korean consulates operate in over 100 countries.
★
The timing is on your side.
Korean music, film, food, and fashion are everywhere, and global interest keeps growing. Studying here now puts you ahead of the curve.

FAQ
Common questions.
No. Language center programs (D-4-1 visa) are built for complete beginners, starting from the alphabet. Yonsei KLI, Korea University KLC, SNU LEI, and Sogang all offer Level 1 courses that assume no prior knowledge. If you have already studied, you will test into a higher level.
The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS, also called KGSP) is a fully funded government scholarship run by NIIED. It covers tuition, a monthly stipend of about $900, airfare, and health insurance. In 2026 there were roughly 2,000 graduate and 280 undergraduate places worldwide. It is competitive, but with the right strategy, strong candidates from over 100 countries have a real shot. This is exactly what the Summit package is built for.
Korea welcomes students from over 100 countries for both the D-4 language visa and the D-2 student visa, and Korean consulates operate worldwide. Visa processing usually takes one to three weeks depending on where you are. Ron helps you find the right consulate, prepare your documents, and handle any country-specific steps.
TOPIK is the official Korean proficiency test, levels 1 to 6. For language center programs you do not need it. For degree programs taught in Korean, most universities want TOPIK Level 3 or 4. For English-taught programs it is not required, though it strengthens your application. GKS does not require TOPIK at the application stage; you complete a year of Korean after acceptance.
Language programs run about $1,200 to $1,800 per term, plus living costs of roughly $700 to $1,200 a month in Seoul. Degree tuition is about $3,000 to $8,000 a year, well below US or UK equivalents. With the GKS scholarship, tuition and a monthly stipend are fully covered.
Most agencies cover dozens of countries and hand you to junior staff. Kairos is different: every session is with Ron, a Seoul resident with real inside knowledge of these universities, who specializes in Korea and brings the same standards that produced Harvard, Yale, and Columbia admits to your Korea application.
